My first and probably last foray into anything remotely conceptual/artsy fartsy in anthro art. Not too many people if any were interested in figuring out the symbology, and I even got a pretty rude comment about this piece at a con. :\ Anywho, I'd prefer to leave it up to people's interpretation, but for those that aren't sure where to start, I leave you with: "Sometimes our very gifts and talents are what brings us down." *Original is for sale* I love the fine lines of croquill, but it's pretty hard on the hands.

.. Got a rude comment on something as gorgeous as this? That is quite a shame. I love those scissors.. And you seem to be incredible with getting salt to leave a gorgeous texture (When I use salt on watercolors, no matter how many different ways I try using it, I never get results like what you've achieved here)

Salt can be a hit or miss for me.. XD I usually really pile the stuff on too. If it's botched, I just go over it a whole lot with something else (Can't keep gossip from a fennec was one of those attempts- I covered that one up with color pencil). As for the rude comment, someone was looking through my print book and exclaimed, 'what is this, an angel on her period?' Needless to say that was rather tactless as I was sitting *right* there. -.-

AH! It would seem that my answer is to be less frugal with my salt tossing, in that case. Usually I'd just kind of .. sprinkle a little on, hehe!
I went to take another look at the picture you mentioned and, though you put colored pencil over the salted watercolors, I have to say that texture still turned out awesomely!
... Wow. I'd say, out of spite, make several more pictures including angels with blood. XD
.. Or to have flicked some red paint at them, yelling in the next moment that you were bleeding, oh no!
Ehe, sorry, its just. . .that exclamation of their's was obviously meant to be an annoyance-inducing remark. One can't say something like that without intent to bother the artist, so yeah.
