Griffon/gryphon of sorts - I really liked the shading, so here's to hoping the finished product retains that. Yeah, don't mind the wing anatomy.. :P He's going to the FC art show, hooooooo- I love inking with a brush, thanks a bunch Henrieke for the tips. :)

WIP- GMD Badge by Kitsumi

I wanted to scan one of these badges I've been working on before I killed it with color - I've been wanting to learn how to brush ink for awhile now, and well, after brush inking 100+ cels you learn pretty quick. :P I inked this one with a size 0 WN series 7 brush, and though most people probably can't see a noticeable difference unless you compare it side by side with a brush pen-inked badge.. the difference is there. XP You can achieve finer points and details with a good ink brush, though for coloring purposes this brush is probably a little too fine. Please ignore glaring anatomical errors. :P

You can do it, lift that thingamabobber! Taking a break from things to do a doodle for fun. Our model in life drawing yesterday did a lot of these power man type poses. Talk about muscle! And my inability to comprehend any of it. Muscles confuse my poor little brain.

I would've used this piece instead of the one I submitted, but I was a bit short on time to make the badge deadline. Lots of good ol' india ink, and some brushpen. *The original is for sale*

Occasionally Byee and I will doodle in OC.. for this installment we suggested things for each other to draw. I drew the killer lovebird, hedgie with hedge, and crazy squirrel. He drew Mr. Brian chasing a squirrel out of the house (which was really happening to him at the time, though no brooms were involved :P), a penguin with weapons, bottomost hedgehog, and me when I went to get some fruit. XP

I'll never forget seeing a caracal for the first time at The Living Desert (A zoo/botanical garden out in the Palm Desert).. Handsome guys. I drew this as an application piece for the UCSC Science Illustration program, which I've since graduated. But I failed the application first time around. ;P
